minchton
I am currently re-arranging my 1800 tank and was wondering what is the consensus on the best place to have the flow pumps. I have noticed in the tanks that I have looked at that most people seem to have all the pumps at one end. Is this just for a better look or does this give more satisfactory water current thanks. I currently have a SEIO at each end with a powerhead at one end only. This is supplemented with a squid and a hang-on Deltec skimmer. cracker
They should be positioned so they swirl the surface water and push it towards the overflow.... I'll post a pic of mine...

chimera
Best position for oblong shaped tanks is one at each end pointing at each other - creates a bit of random turbulence. Guess it depends on how the aquascaping has been done as well though
