Hi got about 15 or so juvenile convicts and want to know if there are any other fish that will mix with them and wont cause to much hassle.

Also Ive just put a larger filter in there tank which has quite a bit of flow, do they like calm or a lot of movement in there water?

hmmm, i wouldnt put anything else in, they will mix with other fish quite well but you will have more than you can handle soon enough. a pair of cons is bad enough when they start breeding but 7 pairs :o your going to be over run so start looking for places for them now, either with other people, LFS or even as food to fish like clown knives etc. they like normal current, probably about 5-7 times per hour would be ok but if you get fry youll want sponge filters or something as the fry will get turned into con meat with the impellor :-?

if you still want to mix fish alot go with them, not too sure of any medium cichlids that would go ok, dont think angels would be a goer, maybe kribs? bottom feeders like BN etc would work too id imagine, not sure if they mind tetras etc but then again they can get very agro when breeding so watch those fingers hehe.

hope that helps and good luck getting your cons to stay virgins

If they are breeding then you shouldnt even try keep them with other fish in anything but an enormous tank (like really big, 6'+). If you've got a male and a female they will be breeding, so unless you somehow got lucky and got 15 males or 15 females then there will be trouble as they pair off. Actually, there will probably be trouble anyway unless you've got a big tank for them ;)
