bradwats
Hi People Just before Christmas, last year, I noticed one of my goldfish looked like he was sprinkled with salt and had a white, fuzzy spot on his tail. Needless to say, he was moved to a quarantine tank immediately. Since then, I have treated it with the following: 1. A Wardley product called Promethyasul, for approximately 3 weeks 2. Rock salt at a concentration of 1 teaspoon to 4.5 litres water for 3 weeks 3. and finally, a product called Tri-Sulfa for the past week All of the white "salt" spots on the body of the fish are long gone but the one fuzzy spot on his tail is still there (although it has decreased dramatically in size), so my question is - is this white fuzzy spot a symptom of white spot disease, is it something else or is it normal? I'm concerned that the treatments have been going on for so long and would like to put him back in my tank ASAP but obviously I don't want to do so until I know that all the white spot is gone. If anyone can offer any advice, I would be grateful. Thanks for your time
Faran
Good morning, It would seem that you've treated the white spot but have yet to deal with the fungus on the tail. Treat with an anti-fungal agent such as Methylene Blue in the water but keep in mind that this product is not filter friendly and will likely damage the bacteria in the filtration of the quarantine tank (if any). Good luck!
Alan
Where are you Bradwats?? Please fill in your location field in your profile. Thanks. The meth. blue referred to by B&K will also kill any remaining whitespot in the Q tank in time. Alan

Alan
If you can't find where to change your profile, just go to the top of the page, click on "profile", look on the second section and go to the sixth box. It doesn't need your full address but location would be nice. Thanks Alan
