Lis'
I have read heaps about the confusion between these two varieties of Corys. Can someone please tell me how you differentiate between the two. I am currently breeding one of them and would be keen to know which it is!! Thanks!! Luke*
Hey Liz, most LFS sell Corydoras Julii (C. Julii) but incorrectly label them as C. Trilineatus. C. Julii has lots of fine spots on its head, C. Trilineatus as the name suggests just has lines.
Rob
Just to contradict Luke's comment - most fish you see for sale as julii are in fact trilineatus. As Luke says - the head patterning is the main thing you'd look at spots for julii and an scribbled lines for trilineatus. The trilineatus part of the name actually refers to the body stripes rather than the head stripes.
Luke*
Argh! that's what I meant! sorry I wrote it around the wrong way must've been tired . Most label them as C. Julii, but they are C. Trilineatus, and they usually only have C. Trilineatus. You don't really see many Juliis aye Rob as they are usually wild caught from memory.
