raeh1
Can someone explain why they should not be used. I saw them in the Aqua medic range of prebuilt sumps, and various other setups. So I would like to know. Cheers
warick hearn
Bio balls just add more nitrates to the tank....had them in my sump but took them out!!!!! now I have less nitrates and ammonia in the tank....the live rock in your tank should be enough to act as a bio filter. Good luck.
jetskisteve
10 years ago and still in some shops they promoted bioballs as a filter media but its been realised they produce nitrates in saltwater. just use live rock & a good skimmer.
