Billaney
Hi I was setting up a breeding tank for some bristlenose's and i bought a long peice of bamboo from the local garden centre, i cutt it to foot lengths with the solid peice in the middle forming two caves in each bit and everything looked good, i thought i'd leave it a few days to settle before adding any fish and I'm pleased i did as there seems to be sap coming from the bamboo. My question is , Is this harmful for the fish if so what can i do about it ? it sort of floats way and looks like snot in the water so does not look nice either , I have thought about boiling it , would that be the answer ? thanks for your help in advance
Faran
http://www.fnzas.org.nz/fishroom/bamboo ... t8825.html Had a thread about it in the past. I believe the best thing to do is leave it out to cure then waterlog it, but some people there were saying they just cut it and weigh it down. I'd try drying it out first...
