nicjay
I happened to observe the breeding ritual of a couple of my blue zebras today and the male appeared to be the one laying the eggs that the female then picked up in her mouth! I am slightly confused as all books I've read state that the female lays the eggs but they were definitely coming out of the male. Does anyone know anything about this? Alan
Have you considered that you may have two females??
herefishiefishie
males can't lay eggs. What makes you think the male is the male? :-? There have been cases of plastic sexing in Cichlids though. Frenchy
nicjay
I'm stumped because he is definitely a male - colouring, size etc and they have sucessfully breed before with live fry so this is why I am so perplexed about what I saw . What is plastic sexing?
