aperture7
Hi, guys I've got some gold fish fries and I feed them Liquifry 1. The problem is that after a few days, the bottom of the tank is covered with rotten food stuff from Liquifry 1. I'm worried that the fish will get ill from eating the rotten food but I don't have an effective way to clean the tank. The fries are just too small and too difficult to separate from the waste. Do you guys have some tips to share? Thanks. By the way, I have had this spawning pair of gold fish for 3 months, and they have spawn 3 times, on a monthly basis! I thought they just spawn once a year?
Faran
Hi there, We use an air tube and slowly vacuum the tank with it. Just be careful and separate any fry that you accidentally sucked up from the junk and pop them back in the tank. I'd be keen to know what other people do though. Alan
Get some snails into there They make excellent rubbish collectors, even stack them into little easy to remove packs for you. Do heaps of water changes too. Bit out of season aren't they?? Are they anything special?? Where are you from?? Alan
aperture7
Hi, Thanks guys. I'm from Wellington. The goldfish are just the very common red ones with double tails. I'll get some snails.
shiuh
i only use newly hatched BBS for fries. they stay alive in the water for a few hours while the fries eats them. They dont pollute the water as much as liquid fry food.
Alan
They grow a lot better IMHO on BBS too. Alan
