Fay
As you will recall I had a leak in the cube tank, we have now got round to thinking about getting a replacement tank. The plan is: base .620 X .620 very solid rimu cabinet that matches the big tank. Don't have a heart attack but we are going to try this: On the above base Frog is going to laminate 21mm marine ply, by cutting a 2400x1200x21mm sheet in half and glueing to make 42mm thick. Hopefully he will get this done on Friday so we can see what it looks like I want a 1mtr sq cube tank on the above base in 12mm glass .550 high Will keep you posted
madcookie
hmmm, total capacity 550ltrs, on a cabinet 60 by 60 ? I hope the floor is good, cos if it starts swaying/rocking it might topple pretty quickly? Personally, I would have thought 21mm ply would be good enough....42mm Will definitely handle it.!! Sounds similar to something I wouldnt mind doing - any photos?
Fay
Well had Rod call into night to give his input, he would rather we make the tank .900x.900x.570 Frog has laminated the ply so will put it on to get a feel of the look tomorrow, and cut it down until we get it ok Rod also said we have to beef up the base with supports
