samuel90
Hey guys, I made a post a few months ago, about joining the marine club in the way of a dymax IQ5 and many people said not to bother, but to get a 200L minimum as it would be easier. Well, I am up for a challenge, so with respect, as I am asking for advice here, what is required when starting a reef tank. In terms of- test kits, Ro/Di what is this?, water treatments, dymax heaters/skimmers/refugium? It is not a if anymore, it is a soon thing and I really would love to have a coral and invertebrate IQ5 as I downsize and sell my 125L grow out. Can't wait for some replies! Morcs
Get an aquanano 30 if you want small, or 40 is a great size. Much better and easier to work with, http://www.livingreef.co.nz/p/162/aquanano-aquarium $99 for the 30 is a steal, just needs lighting (which stock lighting is always useless anyway) and maybe a small powerhead and your sorted. As for the dymax, i researched them a lot as was looking at an IQ3. Heaters arent very reliable, the lights dim after 6 months, acrylic scratches super easily, and the skimmers arent very good being tiny air driven units. Does the heater come with it?
Morcs
Heater comes with the aquanano as well as return pump. Don't think the dymax comes with a heater. Highly recommend the aquanano, great finish on them!
