Loopy
If a fishes eggs go white or milky this generally means they are dead or infertile right?

Loopy
Sorry i know that some of you probably don't beleive me when i say that our silver dollars are spawning like crazy but they are. We have 10 large (about the size of a typical saucer) fish in a 600 liter tank. they were only moved in there a few days ago. i have been sitting and watching these fish mating over and over again, they have been going at it like crazy for about 6 hours. The males were chasing the females up and down the length of the tank. Two males would come up, one on each side of a female, and "sandwich' her between them. One of the males would manage to wrap his anal fin around the vent of the female and the pair would quiver vigourously together for a second. When they stopped quivering the male would flick his anal fin and between 3-30 eggs would be released. I am going to try video taping it tomorrow if i can so i can prove it. but i haven't got a video camera yet (getting one off my parents)
