trick is, take the substrate, put in a bucket, then blast the hose in there (not so much as to over-flow the substrate) and mix it around, this will blast most of the loose fine stuff out, but may take some time to get a 100% clear.

Now that stuff in your tank, just going to have to W/C the hell outa it till it clear again...

Was the creek clear?

Most of it will settle down over a couple of days, just looks mucky in the mean time. You can speed it up by putting a stocking over the filter outlet, to pick up more of the particles. I didn't wash mine though and just let it sit, clears up fine.

thanks decided to take it out and put fine gravel in tank looking good kokopu should love it will try post pics in a few days once fish are back in went and got 4 male redfins last night so now will have 3 bandeds 8 inanga 4 redfins and 2 crays also lots of shrimp
