trinox
Hey Guys, reading that title, everyone will be like, you must be crazy, i have 20odd guppies and 5 1 inched size peacock cichlid babys. Would they be okay in the same tank for a few weeks?
Cricketman
how badly do you want to keep the guppies...? :slfg: Could leave them there as a live-food source...
trinox
i dont think its a case that the chiclids will eat the guppies, the chichlids are 6 weeks old
si_sphinx
It could be OK but then again they could all be eaten. I have put guppies in a mixed full grown cichlid tank before for live food and they lived for months, a few went missing though. In the end I took them out because they weren't being eaten. But my cichlids weren't raised eating live fish as a food so they didn't know they could eat them. But every fish are different. IMO try it if you aren't worried about losing a few guppies. They might eventually realize they can eat them when they get bigger. If they can fit them in their mouth it will be eaten. It looks funny having a tail sticking out of a fish's mouth :sml2:

ryanjury
It should be fine.. I brought some adult africans once that were being kept with adult female guppies and even the big adult zebras didn't eat them.. Guppies aren't that predatory so won't snack out on the peacocks.
