katrina.hughes
Not sure whether its a female or male though... if it's a male it is definatley a plakat. It's fairly young but it doesn't appear to have an egg tube and not showing any vertical stripes when presented to my male. Will post pic soon - may need some help in identifying him/her... lol

katrina.hughes
Thanks! Actually starting to suspect its a male... I have another male fighter in same tank and he seems to be showing some aggression towards my DT... also no egg tube as of yet... egg tubes usually appear quite early on aye? Trilobite
hmm body shape and anal fin suggest female. My males act aggressive to females if i add one to their tank. if your male has been by himself for a while he might have claimed his tank as his territory. in the wild bettas only let females that are ready to breed enter their territory, then he chases her away once theyve finished. it is possible that its a young male in which case awesome! Ashzbetta
my first thought was a young male
katrina.hughes
Maybe it's a hermaphrodite.... lol (won't be happy if it is) I guess i will just have to try and breed it and see what happens!
