FraserNZ
Has anyone ever attempted this before?
si_sphinx
Yes but it is very very heavy and needs a few people to lift depending on the tank size. I drained the water down to 1cm above the substrate. my tank was only 130 odd ltrs though.
Scottie841
You can do it but it makes the tank a lot heavier. Last time I moved house one tank had the plants and some substrate and the other tank had all the fish in it
Zayne
make sure you gravel syphon the gravel before, or when you fill it back up it would be real dirty
Sophia
We moved my 22L tank with about half of the water inside it and all plants, fish etc. We transported it on a mini pallet so it was flat and easy to get a grip on. Even with half the water it was sort of awkward for 2 people. If you had anything bigger it would be best to put on one of those flat bed wheeled trollies. Even if you have stairs is easier to carry when it's on something flat.
