i have had many lumpheads die in the last month or so and usually in groups of 2 of 3 ,i have checked the ph, ammonia, nitrites etc and are all normal, the temps at 27 degrees so i dont see what is causeing it,they are in a 90litre tank with juvi afra (dogtooth) and no deaths from the other species only lumpheads .I recently brought new food (2weeks ago) because they didnt like my other food and are still dieing. I have no clue what is causeing it ,fed shelled peas last night . any ideas? can a disease only affect one species?

How are the oxygen levels in the tank? They are from fast flowing oxygen rich waters (hence their shape and swimming behaviour. Also could be waste sitting on the bottom where they spend most of their time so it affects them more?

Are you noticing any symptoms in the fish before they die?

the tank has a strong air pump running air filters so i don't think oxygen is a problem ,there is poo sitting on the bottom as the sponges don't pick it all up. Would i be better to go to a glass bottom? thanks

Poo does not necessarily mean there is any dangerous stuff going toxic on the lower layers, I would maybe try and add another airstone or something at a different area to the filter and see if increased water movement helps?

Without symptoms it is very difficult..
