katrina.hughes
Hi all, been reading up on salt dips but can't seem to find any regularity in the salt/water ratios for salt dips... got a baby discus with suspected gill flukes and would love to know what process works best from anyone who has done successful salt dips? Also how long should you leave discus in the salt dip for? Aly help would be much appreciated :-)

katrina.hughes
Done the recommended ratio salt dip 4 consecutive days in a row now - discus seems to be getting more and more sensitive to the salt... yesterday and today, within 5 seconds of putting him in the dip he would keel over and breathing rate dropped alarmingly! :-? What do I do! As soon as I take him out and put him back in freshwater he's fine... He's still breathing quite heavily when he's back in the community tank (once he's recovered from the salt bath) though. Should I continue with the salt dips until he gets better? Or try something else?
Discusguru
If you think it's fluke then treat with PP or prazi.
