worm culture on scouring pads

I'm going to try this way of raising grindal and/or white worms (after I've eaten the ice cream in the container  )...

Question is: do I need to wet the scouring pads? I have seen a couple of examples where there is an under-layer of pad, then another pad on top that the worms live on.

All tips welcomed

Yeah just past damp seems to work really well.. I have only tried grindals on scouring pads though haven't tried whites yet, it is good because those annoying bugs don't seem to come in these cultures, and they are easy to rinse out when the culture goes off and the worms still live and build back up again.

Sorry I saw your question on the other thread and then forgot to answer it.

As Ryan says just damp is best.

I get 3 pads and soak them for an hour in hot water and then ring them out.

If you tip the ice-cream container you shouldnt get a puddle in the corner. I use CD covers on top of them because it makes it easy to pick it up and dip into the tanks to feed out.

I feed them cat biscuits

A few things to watch for.

Once every 2 or 3 months they will crash so it pays to have 2 or 3 cultures going.

Once they crash the smell is like the bog of eternal stench so don't get any on your fingers.
