ryanjury
Catch the fish give by their bum a GENTLE squeeze and look at the holes, females will have 1 big one small, males will have 2 small. If the fish are immature and have not bred it is very difficult to tell unless you are good at it, good luck How big are the fish?
Matto
the biggest would be around 10cm and the others are around 5-8cm at a guess
ryanjury
Probably borderline for being very easy to sex at those sizes but you can always give it a go, when I am transferring fish I always have a look at a few vents of fish that I know the sexes of to try and get an eye in for it but it is still pretty hit and miss. Matto
so should i leave it then and try when they are bigger?
ryanjury
I would give it a go if I was going to catch them or had a very good reason for it.. But probably not worth the effort of hauling a big tank down and chasing fish around to catch them stressing them out etc when you may not see an awful lot when they are that young.
