Mirio
Hey all, I was wondering if anyone knew the correct term for the attachment that re-directs the water output of most overhead filters? I'm pretty sure it's called a Diffuser of some sort, but searches on the internet don't return anything promising. All i was wondering was if someone knew where i could obtain one of these attachments, as the current downward uncontrolled flow is creating a crater in my fine substrate. Would be a great deal of help, thanks
ryanjury
I call the ones that I use rocks as they seem to work quite well

It's just the downward flow creates craters, and yeah, i prefer not to put a rock there if possible.
ryanjury
Oh that is what your talking about I would just goto bunnings and buy some 13mm plumbing gear and make yourself a spray bar or put an angle on it so it is spraying across the tank rather than straight down.. Mirio
Oh that is what your talking about Sorry if i didn't make it clear enough! But yeah, Bunnings eh, i'll have to take a trip to see what they have. Because yeah, those attachments on more of the modern Filters like that look so slick, but i'm pretty sure they won't sell those seperately -.- . ryanjury
They do sell them separately just check at your local shop or ask here maybe in private trade/exchange.. All I was thinking was use some tubing and an elbow and just direct the flow across the tank the elbows are like $1ea or something like that.. Mirio
Yeah, i checked out a nearby Animates, the only thing that came close was a 32$ Juwel Diffuser. So without a doubt Bunnings will be where i solve this problem, thanks again.
ryanjury
Check in the gardening area and look at all the irrigation fittings. Bunnings is the best place I have found, the mitre10 ones are like twice the price.. Good luck and I hope you find a solution
Morcs
On my FX5 i used a 90 Degree piece of PVC tube. Didnt even need cutting, just bought a few different types (cheap as) and found what fitted.
