Fruju
Yo snookie, was wondering can you post up some pics of your setup (whole tank pic too), how big is it in dimensions and volume? Are you running more than 1 tank, cos wouldn't your nandus get munched by the big boys? Sweet as. Hows the new big tank coming along DavidR? snookie
different tanks , i am aware that my Nandus would get munched in big tank , thanks for your concern though , in a tank 24x 12x12 for now , have you killed your carapo yet oh wise one ? Fruju
Nah, carapo took a beating tho but hes gonna recover i think, but being a responsible fishkeeper im gonna sell him, my tank is getting too aggressive and i really dont wanna see him dead, so once hes a little better I will have him up for sale again - didnt want to but the new jar wont take to him sooner or later, (CK smacked him i think - he will go up for sale 2). My tank stock is gonna be something like: Jardini, heaps of bichirs (atm just need more dels, got 2 albinos, 3 grey sens, 3 dels and an ornate), festae cichlid, blue dempsey + normal one - gonna see if they will breed, maybe an eel. Cant have it too full and the knifefish are too delicate for what im going for. If you post pics of your setup ill post pics of mine

David R
Hows the new big tank coming along DavidR? Just updated the MFK thread: http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forum ... 793&page=
Fruju
Man! thats looking great, didnt know you were gonna do your own background, show us the finished product aye! Are you going to plant it, or scrap that idea cos of the cichlids? have you considered maybe doing lots of like neons or cardinals and putting in a big arowana? that could look good 8)
David R
No plants because of the uaru and severums. Have thought about adding a school of tetras, might do an experiment with some neons once its all up and running. As for the aro, if/when blacks are available again there will be an arowana in there, but until then its just the cichlids and plecos. Sorry for the hijack Al! Fruju
Put a marine blue bulb over the black arowana = blue arowana , what is the decor going to be if your not doing plants?
David R
Wood, sand and rocks. Would love to end up with something as natural looking as this, maybe with a bit more wood and less rock http://i222.photobucket.com/albums/dd49 ... Fruju
Yeah! that tank looks nice David, if you get it like that... get the right lighting is important, also can you get wood like that here? cos i cant find any.
David R
also can you get wood like that here? cos i cant find any. I'm pretty sure you can, I wouldn't expect to see it in the shops as its a bit boring for most people. I'm planning a mission down country this winter to stock up on some big pieces. Failing that I'll just find some teatree I like the look of at the inlaws farm, cut it down and leave it soaking in my parents unused swimming pool for a while... Great link Snookie!!! Fruju
Cut me some nice long pieces too please! Im keen for some long ones, good decor but not so space consuming.
David R
I'll bring a heap of it back up when we do the mission this winter, hopefully will be able to recoup the gas money....
