galaxy64
hi, Im new to this, I currently have Barbs, Tetra's and a couple of loaches in a AR980 tank. ryanjury
Short answer no, there maybe 1 or 2 that people think that may work but I wouldn't recommend it.. Of course you could keep them together but your tetras may get eaten, if you select the right fish the barbs/loaches may be ok..
David R
You could keep kribs or lumpheads with them, they are both african cichlids. What kind of loaches do you have?

ryanjury
What types of barbs do you have? And do you have any plants?
galaxy64
Tiger barbs. No plants at this stage but I am planning on introducing some very soon. Ive only had the tank for about a month so its been a bit of a steep learning curve
ryanjury
Oh yeah well generally africans and plants don't mix too well, of course there are exceptions but all of mine eat them.. And your tank is relatively small for africans too. How many fish do you have in your tank? You mention it has only been running for a month do you know about cycling and adding fish gradually etc? galaxy64
Approx 15 fish. I brought my tank 2nd hand and keep most of the original water, I do know about adding fish and cycling. Theres so much to learn so Im not rushing into it. Though it best to take my time and learn as i go. Im pleased I found this web site..
