Matto Posted January 25, 2010 Report Share Posted January 25, 2010 hi im looking at getting a tank made im thinking L=128 W=38 H=38 which equals 184 liters and my question is will my cichlids breed if they are all together i have electric yellows ,giraffes zebras but i am still looking for more .will they be happy together and still breed? i am also thinking of getting some demisonis but will they get killed by bigger cichlids? thanks Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
si_sphinx Posted January 25, 2010 Report Share Posted January 25, 2010 They do still seem to breed but less often if they keep getting interrupted by the other tank mates. their fry will most likely be eaten if you do not remove them im sure. si_sphinx Posted January 26, 2010 Report Share Posted January 26, 2010 They will breed but not as much as a species tank, they giraffes will eventually need a bigger tank. and dems a usually best to be kept in colonies. and yes they may be eaten by any fish bigger than them. however i have kept dems with any sort of malawis as long as there are hiding holes in some good rock work. malawis are mostly happy in a fully stocked tank IMO. they will be out more and not hiding so much.
