cracker
Nah, ammolok is something that chemically stops ammonia from being toxic. (Or somethig to that effect). "Cycle" is basically a bottle of bacteria that can and will colonise the system quicker than receiving it from the air. In an established system I would think it would be safer to add a bit at a time. Reef reckons there may be a ammonia spike with it, but I never noticed it. I am looking into what the stuff is made of.
lduncan
To be honest I would be wary of adding too much of a particular strain or strains of bacteria all at once. Going along with my theory on tank equilibrium, I think this could upset other strains of bacteria already established. If I was to do it, it would be a small addition, maybe to get some biodiversity. But if your parameters are trending to ideal levels, why would you change anything? Kermit
Ok sounds like more of a hassel then anything, i think i'll just add the extra sand and rock after i've cycled it in another tank and let it naturally settle, in theiry there should be enough of a bacteria collonie on the rock and sand to not course any major problems if any at all.
