Nymox
Do the females fighters give off pheromones in the water that might stimulate the males into making nests? Im not trying to breed em just yet but im just wondering about the chemical signals they might use.
Nymox
Another thing I would like to know is the natural alternatives to a poly cup for the nests. Ive heard Almond leaves are good and they add something to the water that strengthens the bubbles, is that right? Would they be dried or fresh almond leaves? Guest
I don't know about the pheromones thing but a natural alternative to a poly cup if a tiger lotus leaf althgough they eventually rot a way unless the whole plants in there, you could also have val planted in a few little pots otherwise any other floating plant like duckweed is fine. Nymox
Thanks cam I might experiment a little before I leave for the fight and see what has happened tomorrow. Lil Zev only got a slight glance at Ruth this morning before I put up something to block their veiw of each other and they both flared at each other as expected. She needs a water change done on her tank and I need to top up Zev's a lil so Ill use her old water to do that, they know each other is there now though, dispite not being able to see each other and being in seperate bodies of water. Ill see if theres any noticable change in behavior.
