Gill
Hi my dear daughters have bought me two Parrot fish , do you think they will be ok with my clown loaches ? There are two pieces of drift wood in the tank so plenty of hiding places. The tank is pretty big and holds about 200L so plenty of hiding places. Bilbo
I guess you are talking about the Parrot cichlid? If the loach is medium to large at at least 15cm it should be ok. Loaches have nasty spines on them so if the parrot tries to eat a small loach it may choke on it. I am not a huge fan of the parrots but they are definitely interesting and fun to watch, quite intelligent too. Can get aggressive as they get bigger. Gill
Thanks for the info, only one of the clown loaches is under 10 cm so i better keep an eye on them , having said that it could be a reason to get another tank.I just need to find some space for one . fulloc
cant see it being a problem, loaches are pretty fast an prefer to feed at night anyway
smidey
I haven't had a parrot fish before but my nastiest african cichlid doesn't bother my clowns at all. they rub shoulders all the time & it's almost like they don't see each other.
