Tropheus
Have noticed recently with one or two fish, when its feeding time, that they take the food into their mouth, give it a couple of chews then spit it out then try the same thing again. They basically do this for a month or so before they die. Have treated for worms, flukes but no luck. Has anyone else noticed this in the first stages of illness and if so what medication have you treated with. Mean while in the same tank I have females holding and doing fine of the same species. ANY IDEAS
Dixon1990
maybe they have stones stuck in their throats?
ryanjury
Not bloat? Also what did you treat with and how did you treat for worms/flukes?
malawiman
I had similar symptoms when I had my Oscars, the culprit was hole in the head. Have a look on the forehead area and look for small pinhole sized holes. Are they coloured up or losing colour. Any other symptoms?
Tropheus
 No not stones in mouth. Not hole in the head aswell. Colour stays the same. TM
Had a similar problem with marine clownfish, white poo, eating as you discribed. Treated with praziquantil. Not sure if it was liver flukes , internal parasites, internal worms etc but worked on one batch of about 100 fish. You can get the liquid stuff but i prefer the tablet made into a gelatin based food mix. The other thing to try is levamasol, this can be purchased from a large animal vet (sheep drench from memory.) ryanjury
Lamassol, metro and prazi are all used for worming but it depends what worms your trying to treat for.. And things like metro you need to dose daily with water changes as it isn't active in water long..
