David R
Phone/email Stone and Water world in Auckland and ask if there's a supplier in the South Island, the stuff in my tank is called "charcoal grit", and its a dark grey, not totally black. Romeo
Bunnings sell black gravel. It's about 5mm³ and comes in 5kg bags for $11. I've got two bags for my 80*30 tank. It's not totally black though, it's more of a grey - it's quite uniform though.
