MarkLB
Hi all. I use a product at work called Calcined Clay that I reckon would look good as substrate. My concerns are the size and the sharpness of the grit for my Africans. I think it may be too small and sharp for them as they sift and shift it for pits but would like to hear the opinions of others. I have had some in a glass of water for 3 or 4 days now to check its buffering capabilities. The pH has stabilised at 8.
Ant N
Looks much like the calcinate(?) / Aragonite I have in my tanks. No problems with it,fish have been damaged when I moved coral rock though!
smidey
it does look like the aragonite that i use, the fish have had no issues with it but it does scratch the glass very well when stuck in the velcro glass cleaner.
