Luke*
Cadrona definitely rocks, we went down for about 3 months just snowboarding it was so worth it. Way better than the North Island mountains, Cadrona was so uncrowded compared to Ruapehu!!!! that's great to hear, i'm keen to check out the sth island slopes sometime! was hoping that'd be the case
soloman5
I tell ya it is so worth it, some of those smaller mountains are the go too not just the more commercial ones. I can't remember the name off hand but one of the mountains more on the west side, costs I think maybe 700 bucks which includes food, accomodation and all the boarding you can do!!!! Don't quote me on that price as it may have gone up but a good deal I thought.

Luke*
if ya go during the week then its not crowded at all good to know i really should do that... i've stayed on the mountain before in one of those hutts.. pretty cool but the ppl that go are usually the same every year so they have their lil bonds formed
soloman5
Tukino's not too bad as well, cheaper to stay there than Whakapapa or Turoa just abit back in the day with equipment but still not a bad place to go and the guys running it are pretty cool too.
