spoon
calcium carbonate is limestone pretty much it will raise hardness in ur water also provide calcium 4 beardies in small amounts it is however alkaline, another 1 to research would be calcium sulphate which is gypsum its nuetral ph but otherwise does the same in the garden and aquarium as lime, im just guessing here but the other parts would be valuble minerals, carboinate, sulphate . just bear in mind u will need to do more research and particulary to how much is safe/benefical as it would only be tiny amounts needd

repto
I would stay away from processed calcium in favour of `organic` sources such as oyster grit or cuttlefish, also limesand as dug straight out of the hillside and crushed.Cheap as buggery and I also scatter it around my backyard like confetti at a wedding.Even if they don`t find it the plants that grow there take it up and they get it that way(more for the torts but the beardys spend alot of time loose out there. spoon
yea cuttlefish ground up would be excellent 1 of the lfs down here that has a bad reputation actually gave me the gud adive on this i used to buy calcium blocks for the goldfish frogs and axies to keep the water hard how they like it , they told me cuttle fish for birds is cheaper and lasts longer u could put it in a tea towel and bash it with a hammer to crush it

Insect Direct
i chuck cuttlefish in the with the turtles hadnt thought into grinding it up, thinking about it the powders on the market are relatively cheap and a lil goes a reasonably long way so i may just stick to whats safest and save trying to reinvent the wheel!
