Johannes Visser
I am hoping tp get some juvie Fronts in a couple of months,(long time to hold my breath!), I am wary of having anything to stroppy with them, they will be the main focus afterall. I see you are having Leloupi with yours .Will the pretty little yellow monsters be calm enough for the fronts? Also how long will you grow them out on their own , I will have to do the same. I have a spare 3ft and filter waiting. Great to Hope you don't faint by then LOL The Fronts are currently in the tank in the kitchen over the winter and to alow them to grow a bit more. Would like them to be around 4cm before we put them into the 8Foot! Not that that will stop me from setting up and cycling the 8foot! Good luck with the fronts
Johannes Visser
The fronts will eventually grow big enough to eat the jullies and lelupi but it will take ages, I would suspect the lelupi may give them a hard time when I had them they were nasty, however it will be an 8ft tank so I doubt they would cause any serious problems Clowns should be sweet as long as they grow fast enough to not become front food in the future but I am assuming your going to review the tank stocking as the fish grow etc as that is what always happens I am not sure about them eating the jullies and leleupi ! :-? When out to Gavin (freshwest) and his BIG monsters were quite happy with the tank mates, Alan (cichfanatic) also had some Alto comp and leleupi and E Yellows in with his BIG fronts seem to be okay. But I hear you and I will be keeping my eyes open for any harassment in the future. Not sure how We will get the trouble makers out I do want to add lots of lime stone rock and barnacle shells :-? Thanks Ryan for pointing that out!
ryanjury
Last time I talked to Gavin he said his big male front had eaten the male from his breeding pair of jullies I have also seen a pic (cant find the thread) on cichlid forum of half an adult male electric yellow eaten by an adult front.. Apparently the front's wake up and start feeding alot earier than more fish they wouldn't have a show of catching them awake but if they find anything that will fit in their mouths it gets eaten, just what ive read and heard as you know everything is case by case with fish

Hopefully the smaller fish can stay out of there way till then. If we do have pairs forming and we want to breed them then we will have to make a plan to get them out into a tank of their own! ryanjury
Yeah was going to suggest that you might want to take out some pairs just in case all your others disappear overnight
