Conaquavict
I have found that newly aquired clown loaches are very prone to ich. There are good and valid arguments against treating healthy fish, but with loaches I have found that treating the fish BEFORE they get sick while they are acclimating in a quarintine tank works very well. Anyone else have a problem with clowns and ich.?
Pegasus
One of the theories behind the Clowns getting WS is that firstly they are a scale less species, and the other is that due to most Clowns being imported they have to spend lengthy periods in quarantine under very hygenic conditions (compared to a normal tank) and so, once out of quarantine they become subseptical to the first thing that comes along... which is usually whitespot. They say if you can get them to survive for the first month or so they will live for many years under the right conditions, but tend to lose their dominant dark stripes with age.
