markvs
We are getting some lamprologus (or whatever they are today) pulcher, and having not had them before, want to know what is the best make up of an immature grouping. We are looking a about 4-5 so what is the best mix? I ask this, not even knowing if the fish will be mature enough to sex. As we go tomorrow, a quick ansqwer is appreciated. :bounce:
Billaney
A pair is all you need but a group of about 6 is ideal , i have just sold my breeding group of 9 and they are a lovery fish , good luck with yours
Tiden
Yeah 6 is a good number for a sp. that is hard to sex at a small size. They will probably get on ok together even if they pair up unless you get 3 pairs
markvs
thanks all, we have bought 6 as suggested, and they are all seemingly happy in their turtle tank ( we'll get a turtle later and then rehouse the pulcher.) They appear to enjoy live food, in contrast to what we have read about them.? thoughts?? :-?
Anna_&_Chris
not sure about them but i remember i heard my fish was vegetarian and tried feeding it meaty foods and my fish loved it but eventually got a bloat. as i found out later it was from meaty food. i was giving feeding the fish jst that meaty food when i should have fed them with mostly vegetarian foods. Oh that fish died eventually. with a bloat. So if they vegetarian but still enjoy meat ,still give them vegetarian stuff just not to risk
Tiden
Pulchers are not vegetarians so you should be sweet, they will eat and thrive on most foods. You can still give them vege based food as well.
