My larger oscars dont tend to eat other fish but the one ive got who is about 20ish cm bit the head off a smaller cichlid. If they have alot of hiding spots they seem to be ok. sharn Posted March 2, 2008 Report Share Posted March 2, 2008 Definatly dont use your hands, being flicked with their dorsal spikes *really* hurts and their thrashing might make them a bit hard to hold on to. I found a big net was easiest to use, the pillowcase works to stop splashing but it seemed so stressful on them to get them in and then out. Loopy Posted March 2, 2008 Report Share Posted March 2, 2008 an oscar we had ages ago decided to eat our rather large rainbow shark as a way to tell us we were late for feeding time.
