ryanjury
Sometimes signs of aggression or terriotorial disputes can be very similair to spawning behaviours this is what I would put it down to.. Unless all the fish in your tank aren't coloured up and he is mistaking a subdom male for a female but I haven't heard of that before.. Anna_&_Chris
the lemon jake is a young male he just started to colour up and not fully grown yet but i guess he could mistake him for a female, they were actually like, breeding, doing it the peacock way if you know what i mean. crazy.. smidey
once they start "kissing" then you know they are fighting.
ryanjury
I know what you mean It is very close to breeding behavour, I think it stems back to the fact that in the lake the male has to look big and macho so that the female will breed with him, its the same deal with the fighting the fish are trying to make themselves look bigger and stronger than the other fish they flick their heads and circle while fighting.. As smidey said you know its serious when they start lip locking!
Anna_&_Chris
no i still insist its not fighting, i saw two of my males fighting they were going in curcles sumwhere in the tank, but these two are on the bottom, he dug the gravel there and they going in curcles and shaking their bodies then swapping places. and all other fish are in opposite corner.. its def breeding pretending, i just wana know why with a male...
Tropheus
Dont worry anna. No gay fish around. I put my 13year old male Tropheus in a tank that contained my male Fusco and bugger me. They where doing the breeding dance. Just to funny. Lasted a couple hours then they must of relised that they where both males as neither of them wanted cuddles and wanted to say "i Love U"
