Its MH time... but which one?

I've decided its time to stop pissing around and accept the fact that Halides are the way to go. Unfortunatly I'm limited to only being able to mount them above the tank, and not from the ceiling. Being a bowfront corner tank, its going to require a bit of messing about but it can be done.

I've had a look and I quite like the idea of 1 or 2x MH's with a couple of Atnic Power Compacts, or T5's. I quite like the Aqua One MG600

But i'm keen to know peoples opinions as to what they use and what they find good/bad/not worth the attention etc

At the moment the tank is running 3x 39w T5's and 2x 15w T8's (147w all up). T5's would have to be removed for MH to fit in, hense why I like the idea of having the PC's or T5's built in with the MH. 60CM's is prob the only size i'll be able to fit, but i'll have to investigate more once I know which direction to head :)

Cheers

I'm running the 4ft Aquamedic Oceanlights this one here

I've only been running them about a month but have been very happy with them. They are stylish in design and very quiet, there is almost no noise from the ballast, which is something to think about if you're buying halides and running them in a living room like i am and want them to be quiet. My tanks 5ft long and i run 2 x 250W and 2 x 54W T5s. I was a little concerned the light coverage may not be enough to light right to the ends of the tank but it has been fine. They certainly make a lot of difference. Interestingly i found that as soon as i started running the MHs my diatoms completely disappeared and my rocks became nice and clean, i suspect that low light was contributing to the diatom problem.

From memory i think the Critter Kingdom on stanmore is running the Aqua one MHs with the optional stands to attach them to the tank so if want to see what they're like check them out.
