SpidersWeb
Yeah hair algae blows. I'm told that Oto's eat it, but I haven't tried it. Using Flourish Excel helps a lot, and so does pouring boiling water over any ornaments that have it growing on them. It normally grows due to an imbalance, finding what is out of balance can be near impossible sometimes though. I recommend flourish excel though, only thing I ever used that worked, and oh god the plants grew like CRAZY, was awesome, expensive though

SpidersWeb
Make sure its Flourish Excel. Flourish is a trace element fertiliser, Flourish Excel is a carbon supplement Otos are an algae eating fish, prices seem to be $14-18ea and they're small. http://badmanstropicalfish.com/profiles/profile76.html
Ktttk
I haven't had otos before but I have Siamese algae eaters (SAE) or black-lined flying foxes as they are often labeled in the shops, and they are fantastic at eating the hair algae.
