paul_r
After buying a few more fish after the fish show i had to do a shuffle of fish and move a few things around, i put my neon dwarf gouramis in with one of my fighters, and since they settled in the tank the fighter is continuosly harrasing the dwarf gouramis, sure he looks awesome but i dont imagine it being too pleasant for the gouramis. He isnt biting or anything, just flareing up and staying really close to the gourami(s) Can anyone explain why this happens? Would i be best to rehome the fighter in with some bolivian and blue rams? cheers
jolliolli
gouramis and fighters can often have trouble being house together, i think part of the problem is they are both anabantoids. The aggression can get worse if either the gourami or the fighter blows a bubble nest and both decide its there's.. i've had blue rams with both gouramis and siamese fighters and they have been fine so i imagine they'd be fine with the bolivians. The Great White Hand
Hi I second what jolliolli has said. My neon dwarf gourami killed my male betta. He never bothered my rams and was on the back foot with the discus, until rehomed. Regards, TGWH
michael.qian
generally you shouldn't keep anything that resembles a betta with an actual betta. or anything very colourful.
