Karen Posted October 6, 2007 Report Share Posted October 6, 2007 Has anyone had this problem? I have had an angel and goldfish with small stones that I successfully removed. I am unable to catch him, I have detached a large clump of java fern off the bog wood, and still no luck. This fish is so evasive I'm not sure how long he has been like this. His mouth is permanently opened wide. This tank is 900 deep, and I have to stand on a chair just to feed the fish, so practical solutions welcomed. Pegasus Posted October 6, 2007 Report Share Posted October 6, 2007 Find a short length of Polystyrene pipe as used for plumbing. Cut a length slightly longer than the fish and submerge it against the front glass... but with one end "almost" touching the end glass of the tank. He will soon investigate.. and once you see him go in... just gently slide the tube up against the end glass and block off the other end.... then slowly raise it to the surface and do your checkover.
