imsweet
Just contemplating getting a couple and wanting to know what the smallest available is? Every thread i've read on them ppl have commented you should have at least 4. I dont think the tank would house 4 but 2 would be ok. (60ltr with guppies)

Foxglove
Hi, you can get several species of very small cory, as well as Aspidoras, which look very similar. Check out http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/ for the Callichthyidae family. I've seen both dwarf cory and "blotch fin aspidoras" in my local (Hutt Pets) recently. imsweet
Thanks, i was also going to ask, will they be ok with a gravel base? Do they need any place to hide/ or special needs? Will check out the LFS tomorrow but i dont think they have any.
Foxglove
As long as the gravel is rounded they will be ok. I would always add somewhere for the fish to hide - a piece of driftwood or low plants, or a rock cave. In my experience it makes for happier fish. Ianab
Local fish shop had a bunch of these little chaps a while back, Panda corys http://www.aquatic-hobbyist.com/profiles/freshwater/catfish/pandacory.html Only grow to 2" long, so 4 of them in your tank should be fine. As long as they have a few rocks, ornaments, logs, plants etc to hide behind they will be fine. Cheers Ian
imsweet
I quite like those pandas. Hopefully i can get down to Palmy for a looksie. I think the tank is planted ok, i might just need to make some hidey holes., sorry about the dark pic, tried it without the flash.

imsweet
How much do they usually sell for? went to the LFS and the albino, bronze and a spotty one i cant remember the name were 7.40, there were a couple of pandas (very cute) for 14. and another nice spotted/striped one for the same. they were all approx [---------------] that big. Seemed a bit much for me esp when i was going to get 4. Perhaps im just not used to paying that much for something so little.
coelacanth
the albino, bronze and peppered (the spotty one) are the cheapest because they are so easy to breed, but they are still generally around $5 to $8 or so. The pandas, melanistius and some others are a bit dearer (around $14 to $20) because they are a bit harder to breed. Some Corys are much more expensive. You could try on trademe for cheaper ones.
