aquab
What is the minimum size for these cats to live in?? The pictus is nearly at maximum lenght and the hoplo's a bit smaller. In a 3ft at the moment with 7 angels but am considering down sizing and removing the angels. What are your thoughts??

aquab
Hiya, i read the info on PLanetcatfish and they state that they only get to 124mm!! 12.4cm. So would think that a 3ft is more than enough!!

Ianab
Why downsize? You have to do more work to maintain a small tank with the same amount of fish. A big tank with just a few fish is generally easier to look after than a small crowded tank. If you miss a water change.. no big deal. If you just want less work, keep the big tank, sell off some of the fish, drop in a bristlenose pleco to control the algae, and have a low maintainance setup with plenty of space for your cats. Cheers Ian
shadowfax
how big is your pictus cat? i wouldn't keep them in anything smaller than a 3ft for too long, they like to have plenty of room.

Hiya, less than 10cm and hides in a tunnel all day anyway, barely enough room for him to turn around in but he's chosen it. That's another thing he doesn't come out of the tunnel at all during the day, too bright??
