Mr Blue Ram
G'day people, I'm in a bit of a pickle. I dont know weather to buy some powerglo's or just go down to the local lighting shop and get some cheap 6500k t8 daylight tubes. After many hours of cutting into my light hood i think i can get 2 25 watt bulbs to fit as there was not enough light getting into the ends of the tank with the 2x 20 watt. Its for a planted tank and i'v been using a aqua glo and a power glo and so far the plant growth is not to bad, Also there is no co2. Here is the Kelven ratings on the back of the powerglo box: 2800k-flora glo |4200-sun glo |6700life-glo |18000k-aquaglo |18000k-powerglo All advice welcome
antwan
go for life-glo as it's the closest to the sun's kelvin rating (6500k). Will make the plants look nice and green.
Faran
Feel free to buy expensive LFS bulbs with pretty pictures on the box, but the bulbs at any electrical shop are the exact same things, just a simpler label. On that same note you won't find any 25W 2.5ft bulbs ANYWHERE aside from a pet shop, and they'll be the Boyu 10000k ones for at least $17 each. If you come across some cheap 6500k 2.5ft bulbs please let me know. I'll buy half a box.
