lf
Anyone got any good places in Northland for rockpool hunting. Want to take my girls for a bit of a look to get something to add to my Seahorse tank. :bounce: :bounce:
skippy
Bay of Islands Lots of rockpools around here. Omapere (west coast on the Hokianga) is another spot but you need to go around the point a bit. I can get you about a million little anenomes when I go diving if you want to come to Kerikeri and get them. Maybe some nudibranchs (pale pink with purple spots) seen them last two times I've been out diving. Are you interested in joining a Northland Club? Check out my thread in the clubs forum Cheers Skippy from Kerikeri

lf
Thanks for the ideas, will go have a look out at Whananaki after the school holidays, I know it gets a bit hectic out that way. Went out to Tutukaka area and had a look yesterday. I've looked before but it's funny how an interest in something makes you look harder and see more. Found heaps of little purple cushion stars, left them where they were. Got two little hermits, See how the little ones go first. Found a huge number of massive shrimp - edible size. Bought two home to watch for a while. One has shed its skin - not sure if that was stress from the move or if it was shedding anyway. Saw a heap of little fish, rockpool fish of many types. Got a wee black fish no more than 20mm long, it has a white stripe all the way from head to tail like a mohawk. Hubby thinks its a Sandagga (spelling??) Wrass. Any clues would be appreciated. It loves to hide in among the coral holes and rock at the bottom of the tank. I can see this becoming an obsession, however, I think what we have now is enough for the time being.
