fattythecatty
I'm setting up a 60/30/30cm coldwater tank for my 2 goldies and 10 WCMM, they've out grown the smaller tank. What type of filter would be the best for this kind of set up being that goldies are just messy fish? Thanks in advance!
sharn
you dont want something that has an insane turnover, perhaps something around 500lph with an adjustable flow and outlet (like a spraybar so you can buffer the flow against the glass). a decent internal will be fine or a HOB but they can be noisy if the water level isnt high enough. those aqua one internals are pretty good filters, i have one myself and find it good, you can adjust the direction of the outlet too. keep in mind you will need to upgrade the tank or move them to a pond down the track, they are quick growing messy fish and most get pretty big
fattythecatty
, yep the wee buggars have grown heaps already. Planning on getting them into a pond eventually but that's still in the planning stages so had this old tank in the garage and thought it would do for a start. It has an old cannister filter with it but I've no idea how to use it!
davidb
300 ltrs per hour should be fine on your 60x30x30. I have an aquaone hang on the back 300lph filter in my axolotl tank and its fine-and they are pretty messy!
