Rocketman
Nice Tank Rossco Does that floor need extra strenghting to carry the weight of the tank when filled ? I'm considering a larger setup at some stage , but wondering about the extra weight etc...
rossco
Its an older type house which is pretty well built anyway but even so, for peace of mind we put another 200 X 50 under middle of tank with three 125 X 125 piles. It heavy, but spread. No different to about ten large people standing together...on a tablecloth.
JDM
any updates rossco?
rossco
We got some stuff in our new tank... One day when I'm not playing with it (the tank!) I'm gonna learn how to 1) take decent pictures 2) if that fails learn how to edit the photos! Only got MHs over 2/3 of the tank so far... jetskisteve
Which halides Rossco? the old ones?
rossco
They are actually the new ones! Shows how much the camera doesn't do the brightness/colour justice. Huge difference. Really like the 20k MH - brings out the greens and blues a heap more.

rossco
2 out of the 3 (on left). Still a bit of a pile of rocks but there are 'holes' through the rockwork which are the black bits. Wanted to have plenty of rockwork to put my acros on. As well as that my maroon tries to keep the area around its anemone clear of unecessary obstructions like acros  so its taken centre stage a bit. wasp
Very nice! Seems like there is a lot af action in Hamilton if I can get the time I would like to spend a day there, do a tank crawl!
Fay
One day when I'm not playing with it (the tank!) fun isn't it!! Looking great it took about 10 months to get my main tank finished and just finished the cube after 12 months

I am sure you would be most welcome Alastair - especially with all the frags you have 'exported' to the Waikato!

hazymranch
Did you raise those Banggai from fry? My male has a mouth full of them and I am pretty sure that I don't have what is required to raise them, but it would be interesting to know what it takes.
rossco
No, didn't raise them myself but I suspect someone else in NZ did! Apparently the male carries the fry in his mouth for quite a while so makes it a bit easier. Would probably need to put them in a separate tank though cause it would only be a matter of time before they became chop suey in a communal reef tank... suphew
Keep us updated on how you go with two types of cardinal, I didn't think you could keep both togeather, it will be interesting to see if they last.
rossco
Oh c'mon - they hardly blinked at each other when I put them in. Me guesses the real test will be when the the bangais get bigger - hope they don't start yelling 'banzai'!
Fay
I have both together no problems
