wasp
Cool but what if it doesn't work  So I should just stop adding stuff for know? until things settle down and then be more moderate. There was that article posted the other day saying about how nitrate inhibits sps growth. Perhaps that may be behind the lack of growth Fay? Was it you said you are getting a denitrator? Just new at this sps thing and I read somewhere that they should be fed everyday just not sure what I should be feeding them every day  e.g. the fish get fed dry one day frozen next (what about the corals) do they eat what the fish eat? I have been doing the coral food thing every night so must be to much for the system. I was feeding Cyclop-eeze every day as well. Waiting on the nitrate reactor thingy Watching what the fish (but I have big fish and get stressed if they don't get enough.) I have stopped feeding the corals everyday until I get a result. Feeding Cyclop-eeze only now and then. Have cut the ca down to 450 but mag is still 1500 waiting for it to drop Do you think this is ok and any other suggestion would be great!! TM
I would just keep feeding the fish. Just new at this sps thing and I read somewhere that they should be fed everyday just not sure what I should be feeding them every day IMO, you are right, they need food. However you should only do this if your tank is somewhat nutrient limited, that is low to nil nitrate/po4. If there is nitrate present then it may not be the best time to feed them. especially at the level your at. The trick is to have a very clean tank, feed lots and then get rid of the waste as soon as you can. The food you are feeding the fish should be enough at the moment. I am going thru the same sort of thing just now. I cut out the bi weekly feeding of seafood mush and just feed the fish. With water changes and a couple of other things my nitrate has come down from about 50 - 80 to about 10. I have just started dosing AA and thinking about creatine still reading though.
