JDM
over the last few weeks i have been gearing up to set up a new tank to house my anemone and maroon clown, after the anemone incident i felt it would make me less nervous if i removed the anemone from my display therefore removing the chance of it re offending. i was lucky enough to find a very good deal on a aquaone bow front tank and stand, i like the look of these tanks and i decided to go with this design over a custom cube that was my original idea. i will be keeping this tank simple, hob skimmer, canister filter with carbon and rowaphos, seio's for water movement, and i am currently undecided on the lighting, i have a 250w mh that is currently over my brother in laws tank, or i was thinking of trying a t5 set up but i'm not sure if this will provide enough light for the anemone as this tank is around 700 deep. i will be keeping softies only in this tank and they will be frags from my main reef tank, mushes, zoos, star polyps, etc.... i have spent the last few nights becoming creative with coral rock, the pictures will show my effort. i will be bare bottom ( ) in this setup, really just to see how it goes and i figure if i really hate the look i can add some sand later. here are the first pics, top down, my creative efforts, i will be filling this tank over the next few days and i will post some more pics when there is something else to see. wasp
That's going to be real nice! It was seeing a clownfish in an anemone that made me get into this hobby in the first place, there is something real good about seeing a clown wallowing so contentedly in it's anemone. Having the anemone, clowns & some softies will be just right. Looking forward to following progress.

JDM
thanks for all the nice comments. i may look at adding another anemone at a later stage, just depends where my current one decides to live. i am the same, i was the cube tank at jansens, couldnt beleve that it was possiable to keep such things alive in a tank, went back over a year and there they were, full of life. there was no helping me from that point, i wanted one!
