chimera
does anyone know where to get rails typically used to hang barn doors from? i want to use them for my lights to they slide out the way - same as what steve weast uses... i was also looking for some vertical shelving type rails today so i could slide the lights up/down (all i could find is the snap and lock type system, im looking for the one that slides inside a cavity and locks at any height) anyone know of any places? cheers
puttputt
Chimera, i bought these exact rails through work for the kids flying fox i made. Can't recall off hand the company but I'll get the name on Wed when I go back to work. You can get different sizes, different runners etc, 2 wheel or 4 wheel, nylon or steel wheels etc. I've got a catalog of them at work. chimera
cheers but $499! aye carumba! maybe a cavity slider company - and just get the roller part?
puttputt
call them electrical parts and up goes the value. The rails are used for sliding industrial doors and are no where near that price. Hold on till wed and I'll fax you the info Chimera. skippy
All of a sudden door sliders become "specialist electrical equipment" and the price goes through the roof
steveweast
My rail system is made from Stanley Hardware. I think each 8 ft rail was around $25.....each roller around $15.....and each rail bracket around $5. Here's a link to their website. I'm sure someone in NZ must carry Stanley products.....perhaps they can order it for you. The rail brackets are on page #2. http://www.stanleyhardware.com/default. ... =ThumbView
