  1. I breed plenty of rainbows. sort of just trying to see who else does,so maybe could do some egg swaps since you can post eggs sort like you do with killies. I really want to get some blue eyes but cant find any around here

  2. If you dont want to hatch out the eggs straight away you can store them on damp peat in a sealed container

I store a weeks worth of eggs for 3 weeks for choc australe and 4 weeks for p82 before wetting.

Its alway better to feed killie fry on live food as the movement triggers natural feeding response. Vinegar eels are a great food source it you dont want the hassle of brine shrimp.

  3. I had my breeding trio in about 10 ltrs with floating mops, with water change twice a week. In the wild they can be found in very small puddles. most literature I've read says to keep them in around 15-20 ltr for a pair or trio.

  4. contact Pauljones on T/m for the first 2. I dont believe the last 3 are around anymore. But in saying that i think wonderworld had some Aphyosemion bivittatum within the last year but have no idea what happened to them. I'm starting to get a nice population of`clown killies(Epiplatys annulatus) going, really slow growing compared to the other killies i have.

I myself would love to get hold of some Aphyosemion bitaeniatum and Fundulopanchax amieti

  5. That is a bugger! ive not bothered with the golden australe yet but i do see some fry in their tank, got around 30 chocs tho - always liked them abit better - some of the males are starting to colour which is neat.

Ive now found FOUR striatum fry - so SURELY one will be male, two fat females doing nothing atm. Killing me cause they are literally my fav out of the 6 specie i have.

Apparently there is a fulla down south with nothobranchius rachovii - offered $100 just for a pair but nothing. bugger.

My chocs are colouring up nicely too. the P82's are really fast growing have a fair number of males already coloured up.

I've heard about there being Rachovii around just never found out who had them.

  6. lost my female choc australe over night. she stopped laying a few days ago. should have a female ready to spawn in a few weeks at the rate she's growing. hatched out about 40 choc fry over night and about 20 N. Guentheri got some P82 due to wet in a few days.

  7. I was after striatum but i lost my male clown so im in the same boat as you untill my fry grow or i can get another male..

I've got about 70+ fry of the p82's, 50+ of chocs, 20ish of clowns and 80+ of guentheri and lots of eggs of everything apart from clowns

  8. keep the tank water level down a bit to give a good air gap at the top and with a good fitting lid will help to keep a zone of warm humid air. a good supply of green water is a must for the fry untill they're big enough to eat vinegar eels or BBS. A bit of ricia floating on top is good to help hold the nest together. Have a hiding place for the female and make sure you remove her after spawning.

  9. Do you know where you can get those taps from? I have looked at Bunnings and Mitre 10 but can't seem to find them. Maybe i'm just having a man look. Found the same sort of thing which I will order some time this week, if i can't find somewhere else.
